AQA - Y12 Masterclasses: small group tutorials
If you are studying AQA, you will benefit from joining my new AQA A level Biology Y12 group Masterclasses, which start on Monday the 3rd of June at 5.15pm.
There is a different topic each week. We cover the required theory, linking this to examples of AQA past-paper exam questions so students can see how to correctly apply their knowledge to gain full credit.
The class is only for AQA students - this focus means I can give advice specific to how AQA word their exam questions and their requirements.
Classes run on Zoom, last an hour, and cost £45.
This term's topics are:
June 3 - Species and Taxonomy
June 10 - HIV and Monoclonal Antibodies
June 17 - Plant transport
June 24 - Genetic diversity and Adaptation
July 1 - DNA and Protein Synthesis
After the summer holidays, you can continue in the YR13 AQA group. This will run weekly from the end of September at 6.30pm on Wednesdays. YR13 Masterclasses will continue until the A levels in June 2025. Numbers are limited and the Y13 AQA class sold out this year so it's best to book ahead.

Student feedback
I personally struggle a lot with A level Biology, however the way that Tom describes and explains each topic has made it very easy for me to understand and I have been seeing improvements already in my results.
Tom always makes sure that the following lesson is a topic that all students in the group are wanting to cover to make it relevant to us. He is always happy to help when needed and was able to provide me with a huge amount of practice questions prior to one of my exams. I am also very grateful that Tom goes over how to correctly answer exam questions in the tutor group and allows us to interact and write answers for him to check in the moment.
