understand biology
Complete papers catalogued by date
Practicing with past paper exam questions is essential if you want to achieve top marks. A level Biology is a challenging subject that requires application of knowledge and concepts rather than simple repetition of facts. Unlike GCSE, the A level exam questions are written to ensure you won’t get great marks unless you really understand the content on a deep level. It’s not about just remembering the right answer; you need to actively construct it.
Practice is also important because it’s easy to be fooled into believing you know a topic better than you do. Testing yourself is extremely useful for identifying where you need to revise content. Going through past papers under exam-like conditions can also help you learn how to manage your time during exams, and build familiarity with the process which may help reduce anxiety during the real exams.
